WALSALL’S NEW CREATIVE HUB

The Guildhall, located in the historic St. Matthew’s Quarter of Walsall, is being transformed into a dynamic creative hub. Honouring the town’s rich industrial past, this Grade II* listed landmark will offer a new generation the innovative facilities and opportunities to carve out a rich creative future.
This unique combination of creative incubator and community makerspace will be run by Urban Hax, a non-profit creative CIC, and will include support and facilities to run and grow creative businesses and projects across art, science, tech and manufacturing. More than just a business space, it will be a hive of inspiration and innovation, with a café, gallery, and conference facilities hosting a range of creative and cultural events for businesses and for the wider community.
As a creative counterweight to the New Art Gallery Walsall, The Guildhall will provide the focus for a revitalised town centre and align with the aspirations set out in the ambitious plans for Walsall.
The mission for The Guildhall is bold: to become the creative hub for Walsall, igniting creativity in all its forms and fuelling creative enterprise by empowering makers, artists, innovators and creative companies with the skills to survive and prosper.
From leather working to virtual reality; from guitar making to pod casting; from photography to interactive content development; from traditional art to digital art; from ceramics to 3D modelling. If you’re creative, The Guildhall could be your future home.
The Guildhall will contribute to Walsall’s regeneration, supporting local talent, and helping to revive the high street through culture and creativity. To ensure its ambitions can be fulfilled, it will take its place as part of wider creative networks regionally, nationally and internationally.

A vibrant home for creators, innovators and entrepreneurs in the heart of Walsall.

Our unique combination of creative incubator and community makerspace is what sets us apart. The Guildhall will be home to a host of state-of-the-art workshops catering for woodworking, fashion design, photography, screen printing, large format printing, 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC routing and prototype production.
Whether you’re a designer, entrepreneur, inventor, craftsperson or engineer, our makerspace facilities help empower creators to bring their visions to life. Wherever you are in your journey, we offer affordable, adaptable spaces designed to scale with your ambitions, bolstered by mentoring, guidance on accessing funding and access to industry networks.
With over fifty creative enterprises housed in the building, there will be huge collaboration potential across our spaces, especially as our leading makerspace facilities will be bolstered by inspiring communal spaces like the café and gallery space. We’ll also have meeting rooms, podcasting facilities and immersive studios for video recording, motion capture, virtual production, game design and projection mapping.
